Conference Registration

In-Person Registration Only: There is no firm deadline for registration; however, in-person registration closes when the venue reaches full capacity. We highly recommend purchasing your registration tickets ahead of the conference as we cannot guarantee admission for on-site registration.

Virtual Registration Only: Virtual registration will close 1 week before the conference. This is to ensure that our volunteers are able to process all registrations in time for the conference to allow for the best experience possible for all attendees.

In-person registration closes when the venue reaches full capacity.

While we may be able to accommodate some on-site registrations, we highly recommend that you do not plan to purchase registration on-site as we cannot guarantee that you will be admitted to the conference.

To ensure that you have the best experience, please purchase your registration through our Online Store ahead of time and before traveling to the conference location.

At this time we do not offer one-day registrations. Conference registration covers the full two-day event.

  • Conference registration tickets for the 18th Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference may be cancelled with a full refund (less a $25.00 processing fee for in-person registration or $20.00 processing fee for virtual registration), provided that written notification is received on/before March 10, 2026.
  • A 50% refund is available for conference registration (less a $25 processing fee for in person registration/$20 processing fee for virtual registration), provided that written notification is received on/before March 28, 2026.
  • No refunds will be granted after March 28, 2026.
  • All fees for special events associated with the conference are non-refundable.
  • Refund requests should be submitted to: Psychiatry.MMH@msu.edu

Please generally allow 1-2 weeks for refund processing. 

*Please Note: during the month leading up to the conference, our volunteers and staff will be busy with final event preparations, so response times may be longer than usual. If your refund request was submitted by the deadlines listed above, please rest assured that it will be processed as soon as possible. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience during this busy time.

Yes. Imams registered for the one-day training are welcome to attend both days to increase access and benefit the larger community. This offer is limited to imams attending the one-day training, given that these tickets are generously supported through conference sponsorship.

Yes! Virtual tracks and panels can be accessed through the Whova app.

Conference Attendance & Access

The Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference welcomes all who are passionate about advancing mental health, community well-being, and supporting diverse communities. Whether you are a practitioner, student, faith leader, educator, or community member, you will find space here to learn, share, and connect.

MSU programs and activities are not restricted based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected personal identity. This conference is open to all mental health practitioners, religious leaders, faculty, graduate students, and community organizers and members.

We will be happy to provide a letter! Please email Hilari at psychiatry.mmh@msu.edu or rhodabe2@msu.edu with all pertinent details. Please try to make this request at least one month before the conference and allow at least two weeks for processing to ensure we are able to provide your letter in a timely manner.

There are no restrictions on who you may purchase a conference registration for. However, please note that attendance and admission to the conference are limited to registered participants only.

Check out the Plan Your Visit section under our website's "Attend" page! This section will have information about the nearest airport, transportation options, recommended hotels and group rates, and other important local information as we get closer to the conference.

If you do not see any information there yet, please continue to check back on our website for the latest information. Often hotel and discount rates don't go up until the new year.

Conference Financial Aid

Providing cost-effective learning opportunities is a priority for MMHC. Support from our host institution, Michigan State University, allows us to offer registration rates at one-third the cost of similar academic conferences. 

While we hope to offer scholarships and subsidies in the future, insha’Allah, the virtual registration option has been introduced to promote financial and geographic inclusivity and accessibility.

For those facing financial limitations, MMHC offers the following discounts. We encourage attendees to take advantage of these options for reducing registration costs:

  • Early-bird In-person Professional Registration
  • In-Person Student Registration
  • Virtual Professional Registration
  • Virtual Student Registration
  • LMIC-Adjusted* In-Person Professional Registration

*LMIC Adjusted rates apply for individuals residing in and traveling from countries recognized as Low or Lower-middle income economies by the World Bank

 

At this time, MMHC is not able to offer a separate scholarship or discount program specifically for non-profit organizations. Please refer to the above question regarding scholarships and other financial aid options for the cost-effective options we are currently able to offer for attending MMHC.

Student Rate Eligibility

The Student Rate applies exclusively to:

  • Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students
  • Doctoral and postdoctoral trainees
  • Resident and fellow trainees
LMIC Rate Eligibility

The LMIC-adjusted rate applies eclusively to:

Professional Rate Eligibility

The Professional Rate applies to:

  • Mental health advocates (Including but not limited to faith, community, and civic leaders)
  • Physicians (MD, DO)
  • Non-physicians, including but not limited to: chaplains, nurses, therapists, social workers, coaches, and psychologists
  • Academics (Including but not limited to researchers, professors, instructors)
  • Any other attendees who do not qualify for either a student ticket or LMIC-Adjusted rate* ticket

We are not able to offer waived registration for presenters at this time.

WHOVA App

Whova is the official event app used by the Annual Muslim Mental Health Conference. It is the easiest and most efficient way for us to provide up-to-date conference information to all attendees and presenters.

All attendees are required to sign in and use the app in order to confirm admission to the conference, but we also encourage attendees to make use of Whova’s many convenient features, including:

•    View the Conference Agenda and be instantly notified of any changes or updates
•    Access specific track and session information during the conference
•    Create a professional profile and network with other conference attendees
•    Receive important announcements and view important documents distributed by conference staff
•    View information about conference sponsors and exhibitors
•    Participate in the hybrid portion of the conference, including virtual sessions

Presenting

We encourage you to submit an abstract to our yearly Call for Abstracts, which typically opens in mid-summer.

Details are available under the "Abstract Submission" section of our website. 

This date varies from year to year, but you can find a timeline of key dates for presenters under the "Abstract Submission" section of our website. We greatly appreciation your patience at this stage, as this process can take up to 1-2 months after the call for abstracts closes, and depends on the availability of our volunteer reviewers.

Once our volunteers have finished reviewing every abstract submitted for the upcoming conference, we will reach out to notify whether your abstract was accepted or not.

The conference program is tightly coordinated, and we are generally unable to adjust individual presentation times without affecting the broader conference schedule.

If you have an unavoidable scheduling issue preventing you from making your scheduled presentation time, please reach out to us at Psychiatry.MMH@msu.edu as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate to the best of our ability. However, we appreciate your understanding that it may not be possible to accommodate your request.

Continuing Education

The amount and type of Continuing Education credits may change each year depending on the accrediting institutions who partner with us.

As soon as we have this information available, you can find it on our "Continuing Education" page, so please continue to check back on our website regularly for the latest information.

In order to receive CME / CEU credit for attending accredited sessions at the conference, please make sure you have completed the following necessary items. Failure to complete all of these steps can result in not receiving credit if we are unable to verify your attendance of the CE activities.

Before the Conference:
During the Conference:
  • Sign into the Whova App and checked in at the Registration Desk
  • Attend the desired CME / CEU accredited sessions (this information can be found on the Conference Agenda)
  • Make sure to sign each Attendance Aheet in the session room if applicable and/or fill out the indicated Google Attendance Form
    • You can find the Google Attendance Form in the Whova App or via QR in designated locations around the conference. If you are unsure what to do, visit the Registration Help Desk or ask a conference volunteer for more information.
After the Conference:
  • You will receive instructions after the conference on how to claim CME / CEU credits. Please be sure to follow these instructions as soon as possible, as there is often a deadline to complete these steps.
  • If you are asked to fill out an evaluation for your CME/CEU sessions, please do so. This will be required in order to receive credit.
     

It may still be possible and we will what we can to help you claim your credits, but it will depend on the policies of the accrediting institution. Please reach out to Hilari at rhodabe2@msu.edu and provide the following information:

  • Email address used to register for the conference and sign in to the Whova App
  • The year for which you are claiming the CME / CEU credits
  • To help us locate your information, please provide a description of the steps you completed or remember completing if possible to obtain your CME / CEU credits (e.g. whether you paid the CE fee, signed any attendance sheets, completed an evaluation survey, etc.)

If you are ready to Sponsor, please complete the Sponsorship & Exhibitor Registration Form, which will be linked on our Sponsors and Exhibitors page once sponsorships are open for the upcoming conference. After approval, you’ll receive confirmation and a payment link to the MMHC online store.

Thank you for your interest in donating! If you would like to support the program's mission through a charitable donation, MMHC accepts donations through the official MSU Donation Portal.

The instructions found on our Donation page provide a step-by-step guide on how to donate to MMHC programs online.

For Sponsors & Exhibitors:
  • MMHC accepts electronic payments via debit or credit cards through our Online Store. Please refer to your sponsorship brochure to select your desired sponsorship or exhibitor package as listed in the store.
  • To make a Sponsor/Exhibitor payment via check, please reach out to Hilari at rhodabe2@msu.edu to receive instructions for filling out and mailing your check.
For Donors:
  • MMHC is able to accept electronic payments through the official MSU Donation Portal, which accepts credit and debit cards.
  • To make a Donation via check, please follow the instructions below:
    • Email Hilari at rhodabe2@msu.edu to let us know to keep an eye out for your donation
    • Make checks payable to "Michigan State University" and include the name of the fund you wish to support, from the list below:
      • MMH Program General Donations: provides overall support for the program and conference
      • MMH Conference Scholarship Donations: provides opportunities for individuals from countries designated as Low or Lower-middle income by the World Bank (source)

For Donations:
  • A donation tax receipt is only available for donations made through the official MSU Donation Portal. If you follow the instructions to make a donation in this manner, you will be automatically provided with a tax receipt.
    • If you make a charitable donation via check, please be sure to follow the instructions above under "payment methods". For assistance with receiving your tax receipt, please call MSU's Donation Office at (517) 884-1000.
For Sponsors & Exhibitors:
  • A tax receipt is not available since these types of financial support are usually considered a type of business expense by the IRS related to marketing. For more information about this topic, please refer to the IRS Web Page on Charitable Contributions.

The success of the conference relies on the committed financial support of our sponsors, exhibitors, and donors and as a result, we are only able to offer a 50% refund on sponsorships and exhibitor fees, provided that written notification is received on/before one month prior to the conference or March 10, 2026. We are not able to provide refunds on sponsorships on or after March 11, 2026.

We also recognize that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally arise and will do our best to accommodate when possible, but greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter.
